a fall festival

This past Saturday, for Ethan's 1.5 year old birthday celebration, we went to a fall festival!  We needed some pumpkins, it was a nice fall day, and we all wanted to head outside for some fresh air.  A fall festival sounded perfect!

Ethan found a great pumpkin within the first few minutes.  And he now says "Ohhhhh Woooah" which is what he was saying in this pic.

Posing with dadda by the jack-o-lantern.

Then it was time for a hayride!!  Ethan was people watching - not so much taking in the scenery.

The hayride took us to a pumpkin patch full of pumpkins!

I stuffed 10 pumpkins in my purse - there was room.

After trying to pick up every pumpkin, Ethan moved on to something easier - pulling hay from the hay bails and throwing it.

There were a lot of other activities for older kids - pony rides, a bouncy house, face painting.  We should make this a tradition since we all had a lot of fun.  We did underestimate the temperature change from the suburbs to the prairie ... the wind was fierce and it was a little chilly in the open landscape of the farm.  I was in heaven though - I have a little bun in the oven to keep me warm :)

In other blog news, Aunt Ali came to visit us last weekend and brought a special treat for Ethan!  Click here for that :   http://truebloodtrio.blogspot.com/#!/2011/10/cookie-monster.html
