Ethan has already technically had his first haircut --- found here. But, it was time for another cut and this haircut was a bigger adventure because we needed professional help. In the past week, Ethan has been called a "she" 3 times! Twice on a walk around the neighborhood and once when walking into daycare (comments were "oh isn't she cute", "how old is she", etc.). I knew it was time - time to get a real haircut!
I was really having a hard time deciding where to get his haircut. We finally decided that going to Greenwood (30 minute drive) to a specialty kids cut salon was the best idea. The tought of the smells at a "real" salon made Corey cringe. And I was fine with anything - as long at Ethan got a haircut!
The kids cut place wasn't the best. The lady who cut Ethan's hair was a smoker and smelled like smoke (so much for avoiding smells). He sat in a car that had other kid's hair all in it. Talk about disgusiting. Also, the car looked like it had been around for ... maybe 7 years. It was nasty. We had to strip Ethan down and give him a bath immediately after we got home and before he could nap. At one point while the haircut was happening Corey looked at me and said he thought he was going to puke. And it wasn't because he had eaten somehting bad. It was because the salon made us want to vomit.
For those family members reading - a great Christmas idea for this family is a set of clippers. We probably won't be going back to a "salon" for a long time.
The end result wasn't that bad - despite the fact that I don't truly know if our "hair stylist" had ever held scissors before. But, we still think Ethan looks very handsome - especially with dada's sunglasses on!
So grown up!
