last weekend as an only child

Our lives will soon change again - and change in a big way - when baby girl arrives!  Life as Ethan knows it will also change drastically.  This past weekend was the last "normal" weekend (Christmas is such a big weekend it doesn't count as normal) that Ethan is an only child!  So, we celebrated by going with Aunt Ali to the Commons playground.

Ethan had a great time.  Corey didn't have such a great time.  When we arrived at the Commons, there was a lady sitting outside who looked like she was going through a drug withdrawal (she was sitting and shaking back and forth and only calmed when she stood up to smoke).  Corey wasn't happy about her presence - kinda freaked him out.  Then, Corey saw some kids with their shoes and socks off on the playground  (the rules state shoes and socks must stay on).  Bare feet on the slide were enough for Corey to scoop up Ethan, take him to the bathroom to wash his hands, and get the heck out of dodge.

Lucky for all of us, it was then time to meet grandma and grandad for dinner (one of our last "dinners out" with Ethan as an only child).  Ethan lived up to his toddler status with the amount of food that ended up on the floor.  Bless that waitress.
