My maiden name is Anne Elizabeth Trueblood. Anne means "God's grace". Elizabeth means "God's promise". And Trueblood means "Competition" (in all languages but English which doesn't translate well - and now to many it just means vampires).
It's a Trueblood family tradition to have a Holiday competition - usually of the decorating variety. It usually entails a trail of text messages with pictures of decorations followed by some trash talking of who's decorations look better and why. The rules committee sets the rules and picks the winner. And the rules committee is just my dad (it's a dictatorship).
There is a new proposal originating from the rules committee this year. And it has to do with a Holiday blog. Since we all have blogs now! (the Truebloods, the younger Truebloods, and this one, the Trobaughs). The details are still up to the rules committee, but I wanted to use this blog forum to share my ideas on the competition.
I propose 2 blog posts on a total of 2 subjects. The first subject: a his and hers perspective on what has been done this year to get into the holiday mood and/or celebrate Christmas/Hanukkah (each person in the household - Ethan and the doggies excluded - to write for the post so equal contributions are made) . The second subject: a his and hers post on his.her favorite Christmas/Hanukkah traditions.
I propose that the blog posts can be worked on starting now, and must be submitted on the 20th and 21st of December (assuming that timing works for all involved). The exciting part of this all .... the cyber public could help vote on the winner. This could be part of the criteria used to crown the winner (of course, the rules committee would have to OK this).
So, what does the competition think?! Too scared to accept the challenge?
No one reads the Champion Chores, and anyway Jim just said he has final say so. (refer to your dictatorship comment)We (champion Chores, like all the other proposals.
