a Saturday on the couch

A glimpse into 10 minutes of a Saturday morning at the Trobaugh house.

3 boys on the couch - Ethan starts a new book he wants to read.  Louie is waiting for me to give him a treat.

2.4 seconds after starting the book, Ethan is no longer interested in the book.  Down he goes.

Ethan discovers his water - realizes he is thirsty.  Time for a drink.  Lou still waiting for a treat.

Ethan puts his water down on the table.  Louie looks on. 

Back up!  On the couch again - this time to look for squirrels and birds.  Louie trys to take a nap after realizing I have no treats to give him.

Tickle time!  Louie is excited about it, too.

Uh-oh - baby jumping on the couch.  Momma doesn't allow this, but she is busy with the camera.

Down again - this time to check out more books.  Corey ensures the sippy cup is working - or is he looking for bacteria in the water?  Probably the latter.

Louie's out - he's had enough.  He goes to bark at something - probably the wind.  Ethan finds another book and wants back up on the couch.

Up he goes!  He is almost tall enough to throw his leg over and pull up.  At this point we still help him.

Reading time.

Reading time over after 1 and a half pages.  Up on the other couch to sit by doggie. And drink some water.

Louie's out again - he enough toddler for a bit.  He goes to other couch to be petted by an adult instead of hit by a toddler.  Ethan wants to read again.

Ethan continues reading - Louie takes a nap.

Oops, book dropped to the ground.  Louie out again.

Louie's back in action - watching for squirrels.  Ethan planks the couch.

Corey probably says "Louie even if you see a squirrel you can't do anything about it".  Louie ponders this in deep though, then wishes he had a treat.  Ethan keeps reading.

Done with the book, Ethan sits back for a drink and watches the action.

And, the fun on couch is over.  Ethan comes looking for the camera lens cover.

That entire sequence was less than 8 minutes.  Toddlers don't sit still.  It's exhausting just to observe how busy he is.  Writing about it after it happens is also tiring - I am taking a nap now.  This gives a whole new meaning to a Saturday on the couch!
