a boat ride

Last weekend, after the MBA graduation excitement, we continued the weekend party theme and headed to my parents place on Sunday.  The goal: dinner and a boat ride.  The last time we went on a boatride was before Morgan - when Ethan was still 1.  We thought with him being 2 that he might be better on the boat.  Was he?  Hmmmm ....

And the boat ride was over, almost before it started.  Luckily, we were just off the dock when we realized that Ethan + boat = bad idea.  He was not happy anywhere - kept wanting to sit on grandad's lap to drive the boat then he wanted to push all the buttons (not a good idea when those buttons work the boat) and then he wanted to go sit by grandma and pull the cupholders.  It was no good.  And, the best part about the entire thing, the boat was a little under the weather and would only go in reverse.  Imagine a crying toddler on a boat that was circling backwards on the lake.  We were a sight to be seen!

And here's said action.  Ethan is quite the ball player (he isn't into passing yet, though).

It's safe to say Ethan will continue to hang out on the land playing b-ball.  Maybe Morgan will get some boat rides this summer while brother plays outside :)
